Nokia 600 3G Smart Phone

Nokia 600 is a 3G smart phone. With powerful speakers and excellent voice reproduction, Nokia 600 becomes a lovable mobile for music buff. Also coming with six different home screens, it always wears a fresh look.

Feature packed Nokia 600 is aimed mainly at youngsters. The six different home screens gives this phone a nice look. You can add shortcuts to your favourite apps in one or more of the home screens. That is, you can use one home screen for accessing Nokia maps, one for music, another one for Twitter and Facebook, etc.

It has a curvy design and the choice of colours include pink, lime, black and white.

The display is a 3.2" TFT screen. It is also a multi touch display, supporting such features like pinch to zoom.

Memory

It comes with an internal memory of 2GB, which you can extend to up to 32 GB. That is so much space for storing a lot of music, games, and videos.

Camera

The 5 megapixel camera has face-recognition feature. Not many mobile phone cameras have this feature. It lets you take high resolution photos, which you can print in large size.

Connectivity

It is a 3G phone and supports fast data transfer in a 3G network. When not in a 3G network, you can use GPRS/EDGE. You can connect to other devices over USB, Bluetooth or WLAN.

It also supports Near Field Communication (NFC). It is a new kind of connectivity, which, like Bluetooth will let you share date with compatible devices. It enables you to play multiplayer games, and share photos and videos with other devices in the vicinity. It is also the same technology Google Wallet uses to transmit credit card data at merchants.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S is an Android phone, complete with a 3D sweep panorama camera.

It is an upgrade to Xperia Arc, coming with 1.4GHz processor and a characteristic curved design. Running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, this slim phone has a classy look about it.

The 8.1mp camera is something to talk about. It claims to have a '3D sweep panorama' mode, which lets you take 3D panorama photos. Will it be more than some software gimmick is something to wait and see.

Also it has a stunning wide-screen display. The 4.2" touch screen reproduces colours quite accurately. The screen also appears on the surface, unlike some models that have the actual display half a millimetre away from the surface that you touch. The text and images also become sharper. It is great for streaming YouTube videos too.

The bad thing about Arc is that its battery life is very poor. The plastic body also seems very delicate.

1700 I Mobile: Just Seen in TV

Having nothing to do, I was channel hopping this morning before I came across a previously unnoticed channel, S 24. It looked like a local shopping channel. A guy with evening shadow and a good looking girl were strongly vouching for an unheard of mobile phone, 1700 I Mobile.

Is 1700 the company name? I don't know. On close look, you can see it is a 3G phone, with 2.2" LCD screen, QWERTY keypad dual camera, and tons of features seen in smart phones.

And, just like what you see in usual tele-shopping mumbo jumbo, they say the phone is coming at a huge discount of 76%. That is, an Rs.1800 mobile is now sold for ONLY Rs.4970. I haven't seen if there is something like cash back guarantee though.

The package would come with a free leather pouch, a free MP3 player, Rs.500 gift voucher, an extra battery, USB cable, user manual, and a chance to win cash prizes. Oh, the package will have the phone too. That is quite a deal.

The drooling features include an optical finger mouse (an optical version of touchpad), support for GPRS and 3G, JAVA, MP3 and MP4 player, video recorder, etc.

I noted the phone numbers to call from India: 9338522773 and 9338522772

My only experience with this phone is seeing it in TV, and that too only because our local cable TV operator decided to swap Animal Planet channel with this one for a few minutes.

I couldn't also find any online references to this mobile too.
